Restart (Saltbox)

Restart at Saltbox Saltbox has provided a much-loved and valued service for communities across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire since 1987. Our original founding vision was to provide Christian support and encouragement for local faith groups to help them flourish. Since 2001, however, Saltbox has developed a range of charitable caring initiatives for vulnerable adults.

These include:

• Restart, which is housing support for individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness which is largely focussed on supporting ex-offenders

Restart provides accommodation for over 120 people across Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. Each resident has a support worker who helps them identify and pursue their goals, as well as working towards more independent living. We employ a chaplain who plays a crucial part in offering this support and enables us to maintain an offering of spiritual support to residents, increasingly of all faiths and none.
