WYCCP Resettlement Service
WYCCP Resettlement Service (West Yorkshire Community Chaplaincy Project) aims to create a better society by working alongside individuals who have been in prison, helping them to achieve settled and productive lives upon their return to the community. With faith roots and driven by mission we are based at HMP Leeds and provide practical and motivational support to men, post release, helping them cope with life without offending and family members to cope with their loved ones offending. Paid staff and volunteers help people access and maintain accommodation, deal with finance, health and addiction, support issues with family and children and to find constructive ways to spend time. Our Fresh Start Group provides peer mentoring and volunteering opportunities. Our free counselling service helps resolve emotional issues and trauma. Over sixteen years of monitoring indicates that 69% of the men who receive WYCCP's community support do not return to prison within a year of their release.
